Stewart Construction is a leading high-end architectural construction company based in Mount Maunganui, known for delivering premium coastal homes defined by craftsmanship, collaboration, and timeless design. Led by Brent and Milly Stewart, the company has built a strong reputation for creating homes that merge natural materials with refined architectural detail.
This was our first project with Stewart Construction — and it couldn’t have been more special.
The home belonged to Brent and Milly themselves, located beachfront on Ocean Beach Road, designed in collaboration with Mark Carnachan of Carnachan Architecture.
The residence features Japanese Shou Sugi Ban cladding by The Blackwood Project, a sunken lounge, and a wraparound pool — all brought together through natural, Proven materials that ground the home in its coastal setting.
As Brent describes it,
“The house is a treasure box. It leans into the natural environment, and it’s not until you’re inside that you find the treasures within.”
We captured a full suite of architectural photography and video, focusing on the main living areas and the subtle detailing throughout the build.
The video also featured a personal interview with Brent, offering insight into the design philosophy and construction journey behind the project.
The final deliverables included a collection of high-end architectural stills and a short feature video, both used to showcase Stewart Construction’s craft and design sensibility across their website, social media, and future marketing.
It marked the beginning of an ongoing partnership with a team setting the benchmark for architectural building in the Bay.
